Jibanananda Das is the most important poet of modern Bengali literature. He evolved a unique tone in composing poetry during the second decade of the twentieth century. As his poetic tone was novel and extraordinary he got disgrace and at the same time got fame. This article is on how these reactions are in progress from the poet's contemporary time to his subsequent with a lot of quotation. At the same time, the unique and novel tone of Jibanananda Das with his certain characteristics of choosing the words was also discussed. Researcher Clinton B. Seely wrote this article basically as his Ph.D. thesis titled "Doe in Heat: A Critical Biography of the Bengali Poet Jibanananda Das (1899-1954) with Relevant Literary History from the Mid-1920's to the Mid-1950's".
