Chibokatbar Sepatis one of the best Bangla novels written by Akhtaruzzaman Elias. It is based on the political and historical consequences of the Agartala's Conspiracy Lingation in 1969. Besides drwing the living picture of pre-seventies' mass agitation in the then East Pakistan, the novel became a claasic narrative of the tradional cultural and socio-economic daik and ocassional life of the Bengali population. The novel reflects on the real 'mass character of that movement which does not limit itself to a regime change only hat seeks to empower the mass people through the radical change of socio-economic structure. The following piece is the English translation of 7 Chapter of the novel, depicting the domestic feature of the 1969% old Dhaka family during Eid festival. At the point of Osunari's query, Khijir recalls his long past he had been passing with the Mohajon's family. When long ago Khijir's mother left Falu Mistry and came here, since then, their eating-dressing, shitting-pecing, all of it is bere due to Mohajon's full support. Khijir evokes the childhood days when the memories of his pecenaturely dead mother haunted him. He could not forget the comoersation of mohajon Rahmatullah and his first wife hi aaleh, where his mother's self-worth had been questioned, though there is clear indication of suspicion that his mother might have been poisoned to death. When the readers are in Khijir's feeling of being an orphan and sile-sabel's grief of not being able "Ma', the readers get a bit nelief reading the soothing witty description of Rana and Ranju's photo taking moments. This chapter is a vivid example of the novelist's outstanding skill of narrative detail and analysis of the characters' psychosocial state.
