Abstract

Etheomusicology in the modern world, the eighth chapter of hak rysoweitten by Timothy Rice, published by Oxford University Press in 2014, describes the ways that the field of ethnomusicology bus changed since in inception. In the past, ethnomusicologists tended to stick to researching estabäshed musical practices, today this has changed considerably. Ethnomuticologiste now study every sort of contemporary mavical activity. They have now abandoned the old assembly of the world in two sphens-the traditional and the modern. Now they are engaged wah a mixing, fobridinations, and syneretism of musical forms. Ethnomasicologists study new hybrid forms and also how local musicians use these to advance their own agenda. Musical output can be a helpful tool no deal with the psychological and social concems caused by separation from the old tradition. The article looks into the traditonal music in light of globalization and popolar matic, mediu and technology, war and violence, as well as climate change.
