Chikkothar Sepai is one of the best Bangla novels written by Akhtaruzzaman Elias. It is based on the political and historical consequences of the Agartala's Conspiracy Litigation in 1969. Besides drawing the leving picture of pre seventies mass agitation tion in in the then East Pakistan, the novel became a classic narrative of the traditional cultural and socio-economic daily and occasional life of the Bengali populanon. The novel reflects on the real 'mass' character of that movement which does not limit itself to a regime change only but seeks to empower the mass people throgh the radical change of socio ecorxanic structure.
Chapter 9 of Chinatur Sepai decribes that in the heart of the bossling city, Khijir finds his haby taxi caught in a gripping plot of fcor and perwer His encounter with a young couple leads him down a path of uncertainty and danger on the dimly lit streets of Nasimuddin Road. As he navigates through the night, his thoughts drift to a familiar face, a loving child, Jummon, whose absence haunts him. Amidst the laughter and chatter of the affluent couple in his taxi, Khijir's mind remains consumed by the image of Jummon's mother, het tears, and the longing for her son. However, a sudden encounter with menacing strangers plunges Khijir into a terrifying ordeal, where power dynamics and social hierarchies blur. As the right unfolds, Kher finds himself entangled in a web of power struggles and desperation, where humanity is tested, and survival hangs in the balance. With each cwist and turn, Khiar's journey reflects the complexities of urban life of the then East Pakistan, where shadows conceal truths, and danger larks in unexpected corners.
