The compositions of Bangladesh's ever-revered bhab-sadhaka Fakir Lalon Sain have been published in a book in the Japanese language. The book's author Masahiko Togawa a professor in Japan in Hiroshima University's Cultural anthropology department. The book summarizes how a Japanese university professor received initiation from the sadhaka community. In his summary he describes how he received the opportunity to blend in with the secretive Baul-sadhaka communities. Masahiko Togawa's book is thus a uniquely written account filled with significance. In this book he takes a different direction from conventional research on Lalon and recognizes its errors, allowing him to cover alongside his account the controversy over Fakir Lalon Sain's Hindu or Muslim origin at birth and how it began. Along with covering Lalon Sain's life, his worldview, song melodies and lyrics, he discusses reveals the modern impact of Lalon's messages and gives a history of their commercial development. The text is accompanied by photographs, maps, newspaper clippings, Rabindranath's manuscripts, audiocassettes, CDs and more which he reproduces in print.
